What Is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic is a natural form of health care based on the role that our spine and nervous system play in maintaining good health  The practice of Chiropractic focuses on the relationship between structure (of the spine) and function (as coordinated by the nervous system) and how that relationship affects the preservation and restoration of health.  Information that passes through our nervous system (our brain, spinal cord, and all of the nerves that provide information to each cell, tissue and organ of our body) controls the function of our bodies.  Anything that can negatively affect the transmittal of that information from the brain to the body and back will ultimately lead to reduced health potential. 

Chiropractic is that science, art and philosophy which specifically addresses the removal of interference of information from brain to body (called a vertebral subluxation) by assuring that all of the 24 movable bones of our spine (the vertebrae) are properly aligned.

And that is all we do in our office: check your spine for subluxations and make necessary corrections to align your spine so that you may experience your highest health potential.  If you are looking for more than that, we are not the office for you and we will gladly refer you to another facility.

Chiropractors use a manual manipulation to correct spinal misalignments...this gentle yet effective procedure is called an adjustment.  By restoring the proper alignment of the vertebrae, vital nerve flow can be restored and the body will work as it was intended.  With time, imbalances like the image on the right below can be changed to be like the one on the left...or as close to it as possible.  We can measure these changes using an instrument called Surface Electromyography.

We recognize that we are complicated organisms that sometimes require an array of services to ensure proper health.  It is for this reason that we offer several services in house, and we have a host of strategic alliances that we can refer you to in order to better enable us to serve you.  We also will work with your medical doctor to assure that we have comprehensively addressed all of your health needs.

Our role as your healthcare provider is to provide you with enough information so that you can make wise choices about your health. 

The only rule we have in our office is that our patients are never wrong.  We will honor your choices and support you in any way we can so that you can live to be physically and mentally independent for many, many years.

Our Menu of Services:

Initial consultation/examination:

$140

We want to assure that you are a good candidate for Chiropractic care.  In order to do so, we must find out about your health history and conduct a thorough evaluation of your spine.  We do not take X rays in our office; however, if we feel your condition would be best served by obtaining an X ray or an MRI we will refer you to a local facility and work with their radiologist to better understand your condition.

Chiropractic Adjustment:

$60

This is the "backbone" of what Chiropractors do.  After consulting with you and examining you, we will decide if your spinal bones are out of alignment (called a vertebral subluxation).  If they are, we will perform a very gentle manipulation (called the adjustment) to place your vertebrae in their proper position.  This is painless and often times results in immediate health restoration.

Your visits will generally only take a few minutes.  We are not paid for our time...we are paid for our expertise in knowing whether or not you need to be adjusted, where you need to be adjusted and how you need to be adjusted.

After Hours/House Call Fee:  $150-$300

After Hours/House Calls are time- based as well as expertise-based and the fee will reflect the complexity of the visit and the time necessary to complete your care.

Therapeutic Stretching:

$49

We believe that unless you properly stretch the muscles attached to the spine (and those attached to the arms and legs), adjustments will not hold as long.  As such, we use in-office stretching, and we will send you home with specific stretches to address your particular health need.

Therapeutic Massage:

30 minute:  $50

60 minute:  $95

90 minute:  $135

Nutrition:
